Our fifth issue of the Wolwekraal Nature Reserve newsletter arrives from a flower-filled veld in the Prince Albert area! The high Autumn rainfall we experienced, and current warm temperatures have brought on an early Spring, and an exceptional flowering season! WCRO has some exciting new projects, including the building of a bird hide on the reserve, and some interesting talks and events at our Research and Education Centre.

Hello from a near-saturated Wolwekraal Nature Reserve! Our fourth newsletter brings stories of rain, rivers, and vegetation changes. As can be seen in our cover photo, the veld cover on the Reserve is looking green and dense in response to unusually high Autumn rainfall.

We have had a dry summer, but happy to report that there was some rainfall over the last few weeks, totalling 40mm. The total rainfall for 2025 was 95mm.
