An interdisciplinary and multi-institutional not-for-profit NGO and public benefit organisation, focusing on collaborative research and capacity-building with regard to the economy/ecology interface in sub-Saharan Africa CapeNature The Arid Areas Programme of the Centre for Development Support focuses on socio-economic development in the arid areas, the underdeveloped hinterland of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. It actively seeks to promote linkages with natural scientists to find solutions for poverty in rural areas.
Conservation Management Services - Providing innovative planning, design and advice for wildlife/habitat management; natural resource inventories; habitat rehabilitation, resource utilization and sensitive eco-tourism development to landowners, authorities and the eco-tourism industry. Department of Agriculture Western Cape - Plant Production: Natural Veld Endangered Wildlife Trust - The Drylands Conservation Programme (EWT-DCP) was established in August 2003 and coordinates all conservation efforts on the Critically Endangered Riverine Rabbit Bunolagus monticularis and its habitat. The programme is one of the few non-governmental conservation organizations operating in the Great and Klein Karoo region (Nama and Succulent Karoo) and plays a critical role in conservation, as well as in the socio-economic upliftment of Karoo communities.
